Spanish and Wine
Argentine wine is becoming increasingly popular all over the world and a trip to Argentina is not complete without a visit to one of the big vineries. Especially the wine from Mendoza is highly rated. Due to it’s altitude and proximity to the Andean Mountains, the Mendoza region seems to be ideal to produce fabulous wines.
By combining your Spanish lessons with our Wine Workshop, you will experience and understand Argentine wine and participate in wine tasting at one of the best tasting rooms in Buenos Aires, in the neighborhood of Palermo. During the Wine workshop you will be taught about the old wine making traditions of Argentina. The students will learn about the Argentine viticulture in general, about the harvesting, and much more. You will also find out about the importance of pairing different wines and food as there are combinations that should be avoided. Each session ends with a wine tasting sessions of three different wines.
As the wine workshops will be hold in Spanish (with short summaries in English and /or Portuguese if necessary), this is a great opportunity for practicing your Spanish language skills.
The Spanish group classes take place from 09.00 to 13.00 with a 15-minute break at 11.00; the wine workshop during the late afternoon of early evening (to be confirmed upon arrival in Buenos Aires).
The duration of a Spanish Group course is one week. The wine course takes about one hour and a half daily at an off-campus location (transport not included).
There is a maximum of eight students in the group class and a maximum of twelve in the wine workshop.
