Spanish and TEFL
This course is a great opportunity those who are eager to teach English during their travels in Argentina and Latin America. This is a great way of extending your travels and to gain an international experience while teaching English in Buenos Aires or elsewhere. The TEFL certificate is in this case, a must to be able to find a paid job as an English teacher. TEFL stands for Teaching English as a Foreign Language.
AMAUTA Elebaires offers a combination course: Learn Spanish while preparing yourself as an official English teacher. At the end of this course you will receive an official TEFL certificate and you will be a qualified TEFL teacher. In Buenos Aires – but also in other Latin American capitals - there is a high demand for English teachers with a TEFL certification. By enrolling in this program, you make sure you earn some extra money to cover you travel or living expenses in Argentina.
The Spanish part of this course consists out of 2 weeks of group lessons, 4 hours per day, during week 1 and week 2. The Spanish course is followed for a 4 week TEFL course. The TEFL course will teach you the fundamental skills of teaching, such as planning lessons, how to teach pronunciation and basic grammar, how to effectively correct errors, and listening and writing workshops.
The Spanish group classes take place from 09.00 to 13.00 with a 15-minute break at 11.00; the TEFL course takes place from 09.00 till 13.00 and from 14.00 till 16.00 (to be confirmed).
The total duration of this course is six weeks: the Spanish Group course takes two weeks week. The TEFL course continues for four more weeks.
There is a maximum of eight students in the group class and a maximum of twelve in the TEFL course.
